FRIENDS & FAMILY

God is GOOD. As I read Psalm 139 I am in awe of how well my Jesus knows me. I have seen the work of His hands & His faithfulness abound, and I can't wait to share it all. Below I will write my favorite stories from the last couple weeks, but trust that everyday I could write pages and pages about the work of His hands. I will also post pictures on my blog at: http://jwonser.blogspot.com/

  • Mission San Antonio: 3 days in March students gave up their spring break to serve their local community at a food bank called CHRC. We prayed over classrooms and over the workers there, did some crazy yard work, picked up tons of trash, and got to serve instead of be served. One girl on my team came to know the Lord on the last day! I loved watching these students go  above and beyond on their vacation.
  • Project H2O: Our school is calling their student body to sacrifice every drink besides water for 2 weeks. The money that is saved will go the the Red Cross that is bringing relief to Japan. We announced today that we will be starting on Monday. Students raised $100.34 today!
  • Prayer: Every Wednesday students pray in front of the school for their school. I have seen students call their friends to join us while they are walking into school, and they actually do. I can't wait to see how Father uses this in the next couple of weeks!
  • FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes): Last Friday a senior at Judson challenged the athletes to be a light in their school through service. The next 10 minutes they spent picking up trash around the campus before school had even started! When ask what they were doing they replied, "Doing the right thing, and doing what Jesus asks us to do."
  • Swim Meet: I got the opportunity to go to my host sisters swim meet. There I got told I should try timing at the swim meet. I decided I should try it out to get the true swim experience. Ended up sitting next to a swimmer that found out three days prior she had rhuematory arthritis. The same disease I found out I had 4 years ago around that exact time. I got to encourage her and remind her that she is not alone. Talk about divine appointments!
The list goes on and on my friends. I can't say it enough,  God is GOOD and wonderful is the work of His hands. As I am reminded of His faithfulness I am also brought to place of prayer for the future. I would like to share some of my prayers so that you too, can bring it up before the Lord.

[PRAYER]

For the kids I am leaving here: That they would be planted on the only foundation that matters, Our Rock. Also that more adults would come alongside and serve in youth to help foster and encourage growth.

For my flights to Africa: I need to raise more than $6000 in flights alone to and from Africa. Pray that I can be creative and resourceful with the gifts and blessings the Lord has given me, and trust in His provision.

For ALL the details of next year: I need to get a year long visa, vaccinations, and medications sorted out before I leave in August. Also for my health as I venture into a completely different culture.

For HIS Kingdom to come: As I finish out my last two and half months I want to put forth every effort for these students and parents to know who the Lord is in their lives. Pray that I would be intentional and wise on where I spend my time, and how I spend it.

THANK YOU. for support. for prayers. for fighting the good fight. for loving above all else. and for remembering that our God is always good.
